Cut wire shot is one of the most efficient abrasives for shot peening (stress relieving) applications. Unlike other steel abrasives, cut wire does not experience fractures or cracks; instead, it wears down by shedding micro-layers as it degrades, thereby maintaining its overall shape. The high performance of cut wire material is attributed to its defect-free structure containing no voids or cracks, its dust-free operation on the treated substrate, and its ability to retain its size and shape much longer compared to other abrasive media.
