They are the most commonly used materials for paint removal or surface roughening processes. Due to its high hardness and angular structure, aluminum oxide is extensively used especially in roughening processes prior to coating. Aluminum oxide is an angular blasting and abrasive consumable. Angular materials possess high abrasive capabilities. Because of this characteristic, aluminum oxide is intensively utilized in surface roughening operations. It is also used as a fast cleaner in applications where the surface profile is not highly critical.
Since brown aluminum oxide contains free iron, it can compromise the stainless properties of the surface. It is more appropriate to prefer brown aluminum oxide in cases where stainless properties and surface color quality are not strictly required.
